Texas Mandates Masks

Governor Greg Abbott has ordered mask wearing throughout the State of Texas unless you are in an exempted county. You can read the full Executive Order here. The key language is quoted here:

Every person in Texas shall wear a face covering over the nose and mouth when inside a commercial entity or other building or space open to the public, or when in an outdoor public space, wherever it is not feasible to maintain six feet of social distancing from another person not in the same household;

This mandate sets out fines and penalties for violators. A verbal warning for the first offense and a $250 fine for any further violations. There are exceptions listed in the mandate for eating, driving, going to the bank, worshipping, and voting.
